Mindfulness and Storytelling through Art

Annie Liston Walters, DTATI, is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop that will focus on introductory mindfulness practices and storytelling through art.



Be a part of this formative workshop held in the beautiful Artscape Youngplace building. Your child will develop mindfulness skills and indulge in creative practices in an exuberant art studio experience!

Who: Children ages 8 through 11
What: An 8-week mindfulness and art workshop. Sign up for one, two, or all eight weeks!
Where: SKETCH @ Artscape Youngplace

When: Saturdays, beginning March 2, 2019 through April 20, 2019
Time: 9:15-11:45am
Drop off: 9:15-9:30
Pick up: 11:30-11:45
Why: To develop mindfulness skills and encourage creativity through art and play
Price: $90/session or $575 for all eight sessions.

Each week your child will work on developing mindfulness practices that they can use in their daily lives. This introduction will invite your child to connect with breathing, identify and label emotions, and develop tools to navigate through those emotions.
The art-making portion of the workshop will focus on storytelling through art. Each week will host a different directive that will invite your child to create characters, environments, storylines, and most importantly, play!

Art activities may include:
-puppet making
-clay sculpting
-painting group murals
-designing t-shirts
-claymation
-banner design and creation
-painting shoes

and more!

Annie Liston Walters strongly believes that children are capable and competent human beings. This workshop is aimed to inform, engage, and cultivate young minds through creativity, thoughtfulness and play!
