Coping with Anxiety

All individuals are welcome.

Anxiety can be debilitating. It can prevent us from doing the things that we would love to do. This therapy group is a place to be emotionally held by others. This is a space to create, heal, and express. No art skills are required. This group moves slowly and gently. We will learn to name, tame, and release anxious thoughts, feelings, and sensations. If you have never experienced therapy, this group is an excellent opportunity to step into the healing process.

Explore, settle, and breathe

Here we will engage in brief meditations, mindful experiences, and share simple techniques to settle the nervous system. You will be invited to engage in self-exploration practices, create meaningful artwork without fear of the artisitic outcome.

Annie Liston Walters, DTATI, RP

Artist, Art Therapist, Registered Psychotherapist

Annie has over ten years of experience facilitating groups for all individuals. Annie strongly believes that all individuals have the power within themselves to heal emotional, mental, and societal wounds. Annie believes in the interconnection between all living things and knows that magic can occur when humans group together with openness, non-judgment, and care.

Annie works through a trauma-informed, social justice lens with an awareness of systemic oppression (e.g. racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia) and how oppression can contribute to symptoms of anxiety, depression, stored trauma, and substance use issues. All people are welcome and supported based on their individual needs.
